Collins & Aikman Center Console Design Competition

This project was sponsored by both Collins & Aikman, a tier one supplier to Ford, and SANYO, an electronics company.  The goal of this project was to design a center console for a large SUV that incorporated SANYO’s video screen technology.  We were to design a console for both near term (within 4 years) and far term (10-20 years out).  The console was also to be able to fit as wide a variety of vehicles as possible.  We worked in teams of 4 designers, and one engineer from U of M Dearborn.  Our group placed first in the competition with the best overall design of both the near and far term consoles.
