Gas Cooktop Design

The goal of this project was to design a cost effective gas cooktop to compete with the more expensive designer cooktops such as Viking.  The cooktop had to be produceable within the $700-1200 range.  It had to function as well as, if not better than the competition within its price range.  It had to fulfill the needs of the consumers well enough to be chosen over a competitor.  Through research I discovered that the key factors were style and function, niether of which are easy to copy at a much lower price.  Overall I focused on simple changes to current cooktop mechanics, improvements in ergonomics, and a design that would be cost effective to produce.
